The first sight when we arrived was this ferry/tour boat. People enjoying the sunlight. A panorama of the rocky beach. Part of the panorama. Bellingham has very inviting beaches. Another part of the panorama. People looking for something. Still looking. What are those people on the left doing? Driftwood. A short boardwalk. The boardwalk was built with wood. Go figure. An odd looking tugboat. Posts without purpose. Mom and Grandma forging ahead. On the snazzy new walkway. Sailboats. Looking back. Boat behind bars. An odd looking rock. It looks even stranger up close. Boats in the harbor. Family. More posts. Still no apparent purpose. Thank goodness for all those benches, this dock is steep. Mom and Grandma looking at the water. Just in case you needed a shelter along the way... Train tracks going off into the distance. 'Act like we're walking.' All four of us. This was the first time the lady who took the picture had used a digital camera. Not bad. Except for all the sunglasses. You're welcome. This dock was built with wood too. And some concrete. Be sure to stop before getting near the parking lot. A purple flower along the way. We arrived at the end of the trail: Village Books and the Colophon Cafe. Ice cream comes from cows. What country are we in again? There was no English version of this sign, and I doubt that the law it gives is applicable in the United States. A white flower in the blackberries. We could walk home from here! Brian sitting on a railing. And down we go. The long walk back. Mom and Grandma beginning the trek. These posts aren't going anywhere. A somewhat distorted panorama from the boardwalk. Panorama piece. Another. And another. More. And more. Almost done. Last one. Funny looking rocks. Stairs into the shrubs. Which way is Fairhaven again? Brian is on the wrong side of the safety fence. Watch that last step. Why isn't anyone sunbathing? No one over here either. Brian. A long narrow wall. It's me! A day in the park. We went to Marine Park next, where the city installed a slightly more comfortable beach. Mom and Grandma, unaware of the kite looming overhead. Crab. That's the end of the beach, apparently. Watch out for the roaring surf. Another nice park. That dog is huge!
