In December Brian graduated from WSU, so Mom, Dad and I headed over the mountains for the commencement ceremony.

The San Juans? Nope, it's the Columbia River Gorge. It always amazes me how different the geography of Eastern Washington is. Looking back at the bridge we crossed. The big From the other side. The rolling hill east of Othello showing how straight the road is. It's tough to hide the cell towers out here. At least you know you have service! We had a very exciting evening at the hotel. Brian and I showed Mom how to text and conference call on her phone while Dad fell asleep. People finishing the prep for the commencement. I apologize for the blurriness, but that guy is holding a mace! It seems odd to me to group Engineering and Architecture into the same college. Brian conveniently had a seat onthe end where we could find him easily. A sea of graduates. Well, soon-to-be graduates, anyway. Engineering and Science were relegated to the back bleachers. Finishing up the entry parade. Speeching. The commencement speaker gave an interesting talk, but it was in no way related to graduation. Weird. Patiently waiting for the speeches to end. Wow, the zoom on my camera is not so great in low light. That blur is Brian. Mom and Dad taking pictures, and Brian on the big screen. Shaking hands with the President. More handshaking. Time to move the tassels over. Everyone's smiling now that they've graduated. Wrapping up. I thought it was funny watching all these people in fancy clothes clapping and singing. These cougars were supposed to be dramatic, but it looks to me like they're trying as hard as possible not to fall off the pillars. In my experience over the past 12 months, it snows in Pullman 100% of the time. The I-90 bridge again on the way home. Wait, did we miss our exit? The gorge again. One last look.
