Album: Finally, Sun! (36 images)

The sun came out for a beautiful day. Abundant sunshine, temperatures in the mid-70's, a light breeze. It almost makes the winter worthwhile. I went for a pleasant walk in the evening to the Rotary Park on the Sammamish River and read a book at a shady picnic table for awhile.

Looking East out the window toward the Cascades. Looking West from the walkway. Redmond City Hall. Redmond City Hall. The newly fixed up Sammamish River Trail just South of 85th St. The Sammamish River. Another bridge in the distance (90th St). Along the West side of the river, on the way to a small park. Blurry flowers. Another view of the river. Gooses. The old (abandoned?) BNSF railroad bridge. Closer to the bridge. Lots of tarred wood. I've never understood why railroad bridges had to be so gross. The other side. Cranes. The man-made kind, not the winged ones. A surprisingly pleasant-looking stormwater run-off pond. There's that bridge again. A fancy birdhouse strapped to tree. Hummingbirds! I'm amazed they showed up at all from so far away. Nearly blinding sunlight. Going under Redmond Way. A better view of the cranes and the buildings they're assembling next to a park. The view from my picnic table. Looking away from the river toward the street. My spot. Some little birds up there dropped twigs on me for a few minutes before giving up. On the way back home. According to the city's website, this part of the river is now a "dramatic meander." More gooses. A nice bench for watching the meander. Geese. Redmond City Hall across the river. City Hall again. ... and again. Almost home!
