Well this one isn't from the trip, but it's a picture of a sunrise in Redmond that was still on my camera. I managed to get hooked up with a suite during my stay. This is the living room + kitchen. The bedroom. After a seemingly endless 4 hour drive, we finally made it out to Key West. The Sourthernmost Point in the Continental US. There was a line of people getting their picture taken, so I figured I'd just take one of them instead of me. One of the fancy houses at the Southernmost Point. Another fancy house. The beach view when we stopped for lunch at the Southernmost Cafe. Wait, isn't that further South than we were before? Looking back at the beach from a pier. The touristy part of Key West. I don't know what qualifies a Denny's as 'Classic' but apparently this one is. Oh Florida. It must have been incredibly expensive to get electricity running out here. Old US 1, now abandoned. We did our best not to run over any endangered species. These deer are key. Also they are killed by speed. We didn't see any on this trip. Another section of old US 1. I liked all the geometric shapes. Hmm, that would make it difficult to drive across. I assume it was removed on purpose. Can you please go the speed limit? This drive is long enough already. There were a lot of these green islands along the way. This one warranted palm trees. A lot of water. I think this was on the 7 mile bridge. On the highway in the middle of the ocean. We also drove by Anne's Beach. This island got its very own dock. I couldn't figure out what this was, there were no signs. Getting into the edges of the Everglades after leaving Key Largo. This looked cool. We didn't see any crocodiles, unfortunately. And now for something completely different... A Mars rover model at the Museum of Discovery and Science in Fort Lauderdale. I doubt NASA would actually let the driver of the buggy not wear a pressure suit. An airplane piece. Interesting to see it in cross-section. I think this is the front landing gear of one of the new A380s. It's very big. I am stealing Airbus's secrets. I learned that Fire Hose is a type of mineral. This looked like a green brain, but it is actually a rock. Malachite if I remember right. Hey look, sponsored by Motorola. Ironically we've closed our factory here. A big contraption outside. This was just gross, supposed to be a mummy. Rawr, dinosaurs! Look out! Actually I didn't see any bats in the exhibit, so I took a picture of the picture of a bat. Scorpion! Tarantula. Another tarantula. Alligators! I wasn't sure what the point of this sign was. Pedestrians shouldn't stop for the train? Some surprisingly fancy houses on islands along Las Olas in Fort Lauderdale. I think that yacht is bigger than my apartment. Another one. These must be the poor people, they have no yachts. Crossing the bridge to the beach. We managed to get stuck at this drawbridge twice. Arriving at the beach at the end of Las Olas after crossing A1A. The Atlantic coast. Sunrise on the flight out of Miami. Flying past some thunderstorms at 36,000 feet. The Denver airport. After flying to or through it a dozen times I finally got to see it with snow after leaving the 80 degree weather in Miami.
